Palazzo della Mastrodattia

Palace of the Mastrodattia is a place of historical interest located in Lauro and is the current headquarters of the town hall.

There is no information on the remote origins of the building. However, it is known with certainty that justice was administered here and official legal acts were drawn up, hence the name "Mastrodattia", i.e. of the "masters of deeds". The building was also the feudal body of the University of Lauro and the seat of the archive, which was also destroyed on 30 April 1799 following an attack by French troops. The façade of the Palace has two floors with balconies, framed by pilasters with capitals and architraves, with the clock tower at the centre of the top.

A historical building of particular importance for the community of Lauro, the Palace of the Mastrodattia stands imposingly in Piazza Municipio, the seat of the city's administrative affairs.
