DISTRETTO 5

District 5 coincides with the two municipalities of the geographical area at the foot of Partenio.  
The area is characterized by a cultural heritage which protects and enhances folklore, religious sentiment and traditions that have their roots in antiquity, but also by sites of historical significance. "La Juta dei femminielli", collective cathartic ritual, the pilgrimage on foot to Montevergine and the "Battenti del Carmelo" (Barefoot Confreres of Mount Carmel) of Monteforte Irpino are events that define the spiritual soul of these places, accompanied by dances, music, food and wine and handicraft.   
An itinerary that winds from the Angevin Castle of Monteforte to the Sanctuary of Montevergine, to the Abbey of Loreto, passing through the centuries-old Benedictine tradition of Anthemis liquor.
