On Saturday 1 February at the Teatro Comunale di Lacedonia the theatrical show “L’Avaro Imaginario” by Enzo De Caro. Seven paintings, a prologue and an epilogue. A journey into the theatre, that of Molière, a journey through time, that of the seventeenth century, real and imaginary, of Oreste Bruno da Nola, and his family. It is the journey to Paris, to the theatre, to Molière. But also an escape: from the plague, from a terrible epidemic that forced them to embark on an adventurous journey towards a dream, a hope or just salvation.
The physical approach to Paris, to Molière's theatre, the "correspondence" that the comedian sends daily to his illustrious "colleague", the strong connection between the cultural and theatrical world of Naples of that time with the French one of Molière. We can feel the important legacy of the revolutionary thought of Filippo, later known as Giordano, an uncle of Oreste Bruno who was a priest. In particular, "L'Avaro" and "Il Malato Imaginario" were the two titles to which, one generation after another, the De Filippos, father and son, dedicated their attention, both theatrical and human, albeit with different approaches, since for both, as for Molière, the boundary between theatrical representation and life was truly thin.
