PLEAG - Palazzo Lusi Esposizione Archeologica Greci (Lusi Palace Archaeological Exhibition in Greci) was inaugurated in 2009 by the Municipality of Greci, based on a project of the Suor Orsola Benincasa University Institute of Naples. It was built by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Salerno, Avellino, Benevento and Caserta, with funds from the Regional Law of Campania no. 14/2004 for the protection and preservation of the historical-linguistic Arbëreshë minority of the town of Greci. The museum exhibits some of the artefacts found in the area since 1999. The area of the Irpinian municipality, rich in archaeological finds from prehistoric to Roman times, must have been a particularly important site in ancient times, thanks to its strategic position controlling the passage from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic coast through the Cervaro Valley. The favourable location, common to the whole of the Irpinian territory, evidently favoured cultural and economic exchange between neighbouring populations, as can be seen from the collections in the Antiquarium.
