Cesinali celebrates "Sant'Antonio Abate"

Friday 17 January Cesinali celebrates Sant'Antonio Abate protector of animals and the Aiellese countryside. On the day of commemoration of the saint, civil and religious rites meet:

at 3:00 pm there will be the lighting of the "Focarone" in Piazza Enrico Cocchia and the arrival of the "Città di Serino" musical band;

at 3:30 pm the blessing of the animals, a consolidated local tradition that every year sees the four-legged friends parade, the parish priest will express a wish for them health and protection; following this, the Procession of the Saint and the blessing of the countryside will take place accompanied by the sound of bells and the prayers of the faithful;

at 7:00 pm people gather around the Focarone to taste typical dishes of the local tradition, fritters, sausages and other local specialties.

The celebration of Sant Antonio Abate in Cesinali is a deep-rooted and heartfelt event that every year consolidates community ties by passing down religious and popular rites.
