The Feast of Saint Michael is held in the Municipality of Bisaccia on 8 May every year.
It is a very important religious event, during which the community goes to a small chapel on a hill, just outside the town centre. This traditional feast is reminiscent of the great country festivals of the past when worshippers prayed to the Saint to thank him and to ask for a mild climate, because otherwise too harsh a climate would have ruined the crops and harvests.
It is precisely this reminder of the past and the simplicity of the Feast of Saint Michael that makes it one of the most popular festivities in Bisaccia.
