On Sunday 1 December at 10.00 and 11.30, the dark corridors of the ancient Montefusco prison will come alive in the original representation "Chi trase a Montefusco" which recalls the history and mysteries of the dark prison. An exciting journey that crosses the shadows of time together with exceptional narrators, History and Justice, and in the encounter with the unhappy and proud protagonists of those sad events. Taken from authentic documents and prisoners' memories, the text and theatrical adaptation are by Emilia Dente.
Montefusco Prison has a long history of blood and torment. A little-known story, in many respects unknown to official historiography, as are the many prisoners, bandits, men, women and even children whose tragic fate took place within its mighty walls.
History and Justice, narrating figures, intertwine their voices in an original narrative journey and cross the rocky underground, where, from the darkness of history, the infamous executioners, the daring revolutionaries and the noble patriots emerge and where, among the shadows of time, breaths and fragments of lost women and presumed bandits emerge which come to life in the sharp words and echo in the cavities of the heart.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Montefusco in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Montefusco.
