The Church of Santi Margherita e Potito (Saints Margaret and Potitus) in Lauro is located in Piazza Municipio, near the Palace of the Mastrodattia.
The first news about the parish is reported in a text of 1615. Destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, the Church was particularly affected by a fire perpetrated by the French in 1799, due to which none of the works that were present in it survived, including the large canvas on the ceiling painted by Angelo Mozzillo. Further damaged by the earthquakes of 1930 and 1980, the Church was reopened for worship in 1992.
Inside, a painting by Mozzillo depicting the Assumption and an Our Lady of Mount Carmel by Giuseppe Mazzia can be admired.
