The Church of the Santissimo Rosario (Most Holy Rosary) in Gesualdo is a place of worship located in Piazza Neviera.
The construction of the religious building, with the adjoining Dominican monastery, was started by Prince Carlo Gesualdo and finished by Nicolò Ludovisi in the first half of the 17th century. This church includes no less than nine polychrome marble altars, worked in Baroque style, and three altars, among which the main altar, dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary, stands out. Inside the Church of the SS. Rosario there are also other elements, such as an inlaid wooden choir, just behind the high altar, and a statue dedicated to Saint Vincent Ferreri, which is beautifully carved and has a silver diadem.
A festival in honour of Saint Vincent Ferreri, to whom one of the altars is also dedicated, is celebrated on the last Sunday of August in the Church of the Santissimo Rosario, during which the traditional "Volo dell'Angelo" (Flight of the Angel) takes place, with heartfelt participation by the townspeople.
