The Church of the Santissima Annunziata (Most Holy Annunciation) in Pietrastornina is located on Corso Partenio.

As you can read on the inscription on the entrance doorway, the Mother Church of the Irpinian town was consecrated in 1761. In fact, its construction dates back to the 18th century and was undertaken after the collapse of the old archpriest's building dedicated to Saint Mary of Iuso and located in the medieval village. Closed in 1979 for restoration and reinforcement work, it was reopened for worship in 1992.

Looking at the very simple façade of the Church of the Santissima Annunziata, you can see a bell tower on the left, slightly higher than the central body of the structure. The interior, on the other hand, has a Greek cross plan with the nave and two aisles and is pleasantly bright thanks to four large windows. It is also embellished by statues and cornices but, above all, by three polychrome marble altars.

A religious symbol of the local community, the Church of the Santissima Annunziata helps to enrich the artistic and religious heritage of Pietrastornina.
