The Church of San Sebastiano e Fabiano (Saints Sebastian and Fabianus) is situated in Piazzetta Arnaldo da Brescia, in Aiello del Sabato. It stands alongside Ricciardelli Palace.
The stone portal in the façade of the Church is particularly noteworthy. It contains a short inscription dedicated to Saint Sebastian, and also a date: 1830, which would seem to be a clear indication of when the Church was built.
The Church of San Sebastiano e Fabiano is also surrounded by an aura of mystery and has a rich history. It is best known for the secret passage – walled up during World War II – once used by the nuns to enter the Church without being seen in public. The passageway lies beneath the cloisters linking the Church to the nearby Ricciardelli Palace.
