Mariconda Palace is a sign of historical interest close to the municipal building in San Michele di Serino.
A noble residence built in Liberty style, it dates back to the 19th century. The building was constructed thanks to Domenicantonio Mariconda, a citizen of the town who made his fortune in America and then returned to his place of birth, ordering the Palace to be built in the same style as another building he had commissioned overseas. After the building suffered serious damage in the earthquake of 23 November 1980, what remains today is the splendid façade on which there is an eagle with wings outstretched, supporting a balcony placed over the entrance door.
An architectural landmark for San Michele di Serino, Mariconda Palace also testifies to the first migration of the 19th century, when many people from Irpinia left their country of origin to chase the American dream.
