Ariano Irpino: a Christmas full of events “With your family and with whoever you want”

From 7 December 2024 to 6 January 2025, the city of Ariano Irpino will transform into an enchanted place, where the magic of Christmas will come to life through a rich program of events. “With your family and with whoever you want” invites everyone to spend time with their loved ones, but also to open up to the wider community. It is a call to celebrate together, to share special moments and to experience the holidays with joy and human warmth. Ariano in the Winter is truly magical, “with your family and with whoever you want”.

The evocative Christmas lights, turned on on 1 December, thanks to the commitment of the councilor responsible for productive activities and commerce, Andrea Melito, will light up the historic center and the major suburbs of the city.

“An element of great curiosity - comments Mayor Enrico Franza - will be the Winter Castle, an absolute novelty that promises to amaze residents and visitors. Inside the historic walls of the Norman Castle, we will create a wonderful Christmas village, where artisan markets will offer local products and gastronomic specialties, helping to keep the traditions of our territory alive. It will be an environment where the warmth of the community blends with the enthusiasm of the holidays. To make the atmosphere even more magical, the tradition of Santa Claus will come to life with an evocative carriage that will go around the towers of our beautiful Manor. An enchanting artificial snowfall will transform the event into a fairytale landscape, giving everyone a feeling of wonder and enchantment”.

The program also includes a special event called “Neon Brush”, where participants can express their creativity in a festive and colorful environment, using fluorescent colors that illuminate Christmas in a unique way. There will be workshops designed for adults and children, where everyone can have fun, create and discover new passions, making Christmas a time of learning and sharing.

The “With yours and with whoever you want” program also includes a variety of cultural and musical events, from concerts to workshops, from film screenings to art exhibitions. The “Ara Contemporanea” art collective and concerts of different genres will enrich the Christmas offer, offering moments of entertainment and reflection.

The locations of the events will be multiple and varied, from Piazza Plebiscito, with the traditional Christmas tree, to the Civic and Ceramics Museum and the opening of the Palazzo Forte in its entirety, passing through Palazzo Renzulli, the Municipal Auditorium, Piazza Garibaldi and the majestic Norman Castle. Each location will be animated by events designed for all ages, ensuring that every member of the community can find something special to experience and share.

Another new feature for Christmas 2024 is the first edition of “Le Cultivar”. "After “Affresco d’Estate”, which focused on our ceramic art, - continues the Mayor - “le Cultivar" represents an interesting combination of tradition and innovation. The olive tree installation will not only beautify the historic center, but will also symbolize the importance of keeping local traditions alive, while urban redevelopment projects will give the city a new face. A heartfelt thanks - he concludes - goes to all the associations, merchants and volunteers who have joined us in this adventure. Their passion and commitment are essential to making these holidays a special moment for everyone.
