The Museum of Castles is situated in Casalbore, inside the Castle rooms. The entrance is on Via Patrevita.
The Museum is the result of a partnership between the cultural association “Terre di Campania” and the municipal authority. The exhibition space and educational programme is dedicated to the historic castles in the province of Avellino. At the heart of the museum is the photography exhibition entitled “Photographic Travel Notes: Castles and Fortresses in the province of Avellino”, where visitors can find many photographs of Irpinian castles.
The photographs are accompanied by notes giving information about the history of each castle and its context in the local area. There is also information about other places of interest, the local food and wine offer, and a series of interesting anecdotes.
The Museum of Castles is also a venue for conventions, local events and educational visits, where schoolchildren can come and learn about the peculiarities of each castle and the Middle Ages in general.
