Leaving the built-up area of Savignano Irpino, there are several possibilities for excursions that are interesting from a naturalistic point of view, offered by the Percorso Vita (Fitness Trail).
Located on Calvario hill, along the Serre ridge, the Percorso Vita was recently built based on a naturalistic engineering project, equipped with paths and gymnastic equipment for walks and sporting activities, immersed in nature and just a stone's throw from the town centre.
In addition to the 12-hectare municipal forest, rich in conifers, oaks and unspoilt wildlife, the project also includes a cold sulphur spring and a small lake nearby into which its waters are partly conveyed. The Rifieto spring and the Aguglia lake are in the Licese district, on the slopes of Mount Sant'Angelo: they can be reached by leaving the town in the direction of Montaguto, taking the provincial road in the direction of Monteleone di Puglia, and then turning towards Ciccotonno and from there taking a road that is not easy to follow, but quite charming due to the presence of shepherds' huts and flocks of grazing sheep.
All this contributes to contextualising the town in Irpinia, listed among "Italy's Most Beautiful Villages", in a splendid landscape setting.
