The Baths of San Teodoro are a place of historic interest and also a spa, located in Villamaina just 3 km from the town centre.
These thermal baths have a long history, as records show they were used as early as the second half of the 17th century. The waters in this area, which have a temperature of 28°C and are rich in minerals and revitalizing substances from the San Teodoro spring, led to the creation of the Baths. They are just a stone’s throw from the Mefite Geosite in the Ansanto Valley and its many hot mud springs, which have a similar volcanic and hydrogeological profile as the Baths of San Teodoro.
Today, the Baths have a hotel and restaurant, bathing pools and a wellness centre. The Baths of San Teodoro offer not only crenotherapy, for which the site is renowned, but also a series of spa treatments ranging from Turkish baths to intratympanic insufflations, which can cure many ear, nose, throat and respiratory, cardiovascular ailments, skin complaints and afflictions of the muscular and skeletal systems.
Set in an area of natural beauty with a favourable climate almost all year round, the Baths of San Teodoro are the ideal location for the many visitors who choose to spend their holidays here or come for spa treatments at a facility that offers every possible amenity.
