The "Teatro in Movimento" Theatre Review continues on Thursday, April 3, at 9:00 p.m., at the Multisala Cinema Nuovo in Lioni with "Man and Gentleman" by Edoardo De Filippo, known until 1933 with the title "Ho fatto il guaio? Riparerò!".
The comedy was written by Eduardo for his stepbrother Vincenzo Scarpetta and staged in 1924 with the title "Ho fatto il guaio? Riparerò!" referring to the misunderstanding that is created in the first act and which gives rise to the development of the comedy.
This very particular text by Eduardo plays on the thin line that separates reality and fiction, passing through madness, for need/hunger or for opportunity/social etiquette.
The theme of the double is the master: comedy-drama, actors-characters; men-gentlemen; nobles-plebeians; wealth-poverty; truth-lies.
Characters actors and actors characters, healthy people who pretend to be crazy and crazy people who become healthy again, real brothers and fake brothers, real mothers and fake mothers, legitimate fathers and illegitimate fathers follow one another on the stage, intertwining, one into the other, mirror events.
The mask, which dominates the scene, recalls the continuous splitting of the human being himself between fiction and reality.
Likewise the lighting plan, the empty-full scenography that delimits the physical and mental spaces, while still allowing a glimpse, the "artistic linen" constantly present and acted out on stage.
The research work of the Associazione d'Arte Cultura e Spettacolo Teatro dei Dioscuri moved on this double track, suspended halfway between tradition and betrayal.
Teatro dei Dioscuri won the "Best Show" award for this performance at the 73rd National Dramatic Arts Festival in Pesaro (PU) – 2020.
