The Archaeological Museum of Frigento is located in the historic De Leo Palace, in Via Roma.
The archaeological exhibition, also known as "Tales of wheat in the wind", was organised in collaboration with the Campania Archaeological Superintendence and the municipal administration. It retraces the fundamental stages in the history of Frigento, which is characterised by its ancient origins, as demonstrated by the large amount of evidence dating back to the Palaeolithic period, and its strategic position on the route of the Appian Way, which ran from Rome to Brindisi.
The exhibition in the Archaeological Museum of Frigento has two main themes: one is represented by wheat and the agricultural vocation of the area, the other by the considerable quantity of Roman inscriptions found in the area. All this is accompanied by the suggestive support of audiovisual material that contributes to more fluent fruition and understanding of the contents and evidence collected.
As the guardian of a very ancient era, the Archaeological Museum of Frigento contributes to enhancing the entire area, its traditions and natural beauty.
