The 7 Fountains Trail is a hiking trail starting and finishing in Piazza della Sanità, in the Municipality of Caposele.
The CAI (Italian Alpine Club) itinerary winds around a concentric ring of 13 km, for a total of about 6 hours, with breaks provided along the way. In recent times, several clearing operations have been carried out to clean the glades and recover the water from the fountains: operations that have returned decorum and safety to the path, allowing it to be used again.
After passing the historic cellars of the town, bordering the Sele Springs, we climb up towards the Chestnut Grove, encountering the seven historic spring water fountains located along this path, which is rich in chestnut groves and bean and potato plantations: Pignuolo, San Biagio, Sarracino, Cerasuolo, Mauta, Carminella and Canale. After passing the last fountain, we return to the starting point in Piazza della Sanità, which is also the end of the route.
The Caposele's 7 Fountains Trail is a sensational nature trail that is easy to follow and a must for nature and trekking enthusiasts.
