The Chestnut and Black Truffle Festival is a food and wine event that takes place in Bagnoli Irpino every year in autumn.

It's dedicated to two traditional excellences of the Picentini Mountains Regional Park: the black truffle of Bagnoli Irpino PAT and the Montella Chestnut PGI. With its unmistakable aroma and flavour, truffles are used to season many of the dishes offered on the event menu. Chestnuts, accompanied by mushrooms and dairy products, in particular pecorino bagnolese cheese (produced with the milk of indigenous sheep) make this event an awaited appointment for a growing number of visitors.

The food and wine route winds through the historic centre of the town, among about 100 stands of typical products of excellence. A program that includes shows, folk music concerts and folkloric dances helps to make the atmosphere festive. Guided tours are organized in the sites of interest, which for the occasion remain open, to introduce visitors to the beauty of the Bagnoli Irpino territory rich in art and culture.

Thanks to the commitment of the organizers, it has become one of the most followed events in Irpinia accompanied by excellent food and wine and traditional music.
