The Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo (Saints Peter and Paul) in Salza Irpina is located on Via Cittadella.
As the Mother Church of the Irpinian village, it was built towards the end of the 16th century; it was subsequently rebuilt in the early decades of the 18th century and restored again following the damage caused by the earthquake of 23 November, 1980.
A beautiful marble doorway welcomes the faithful into the religious building. The Church has several distinctive features: on the outside, an imposing bell tower, which once had a remarkable clock, which was unfortunately partly destroyed by the earthquake of 1980; inside, a marble altar on which there is also a sculpture of Our Lady of Graces from the 18th century and other works of art, including some polychrome wooden statues depicting various saints and a stone baptismal font from the 16th century.
The religious symbol of the Salza community, the Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo is the place of worship where the solemn celebrations are held in honour of Our Lady of Graces every year in September.
