The Municipality of Gesualdo will host the exhibition "Pulviscolo Mediterraneo" which will be held every Saturday and Sunday until March 23, 2025, at the Pisapia/Mattioli Architectural Complex in the ancient village of Gesualdo.
A well-designed exhibition itinerary, an exhibition that involves, particular and sinuous environments, an excellent location that will allow a gradual and in-depth understanding of the themes.
The exhibition will include the works of four talented artists: Pasquale Zarra, Carmine Calò, Davide Mingolla and Vincent Moon.
Carmine Calò was born in a very small hill town, Villamaina, in the province of Avellino, in 1964, where he still lives. Of humble origins, in the beautiful greenery of his town, his vocation for sculpture has its roots in the years of his childhood: in the hours spent looking for clay in the same places where the old farmers looked for it and Carmine Calò uses it to shape it into objects and small terracotta statues. From here he began his artistic journey in a spontaneous and natural way, dedicating himself to painting and especially to sculpture.
Davide Mingolla is a very young 23-year-old artist from Puglia. He is attending the first year of the Visual Arts course at "NABA" in Rome. He studied in a scientific high school, subsequently undertaking university studies at the Faculty of Computer Engineering in Lecce which he interrupted when he realized that his primary interest converged on the visual arts and their complementary areas of study.
Self-taught in learning 3D graphics and drawing and painting techniques, in particular, after several years of exercises through drawing and watercolors, he began to delve into oil painting in the last months of 2021.
He creates art as a form of catharsis, a way to process and give meaning to his experiences and perspectives on the world. He also feels a sense of responsibility in provoking the viewer to confront their own fears and anxieties and to evoke emotions, leaving them a warning. He intends to develop his painting path but also to work, soon, on installations and sculptures using his knowledge of computer science and 3D modeling.
Vincent Moon (Paris, August 25, 1979) is a French director of video clips, experimental cinema and documentaries, he is the prestigious signature of the exhibition "Pulviscolo Mediterraneo".
Finally, the last protagonist of the exhibition is Pasquale Zarra, these are his statements: "Mediterranean Dust is a casing of particles generated by a geographical-cultural area rich in history, mystery, sacredness, pain and vitality. An invitation to immerse and accompany visitors on a contemplative journey in which art, in all its forms and facets, is the only language capable of expressing secrets that matter has kept for centuries. Here sounds, images and sculptures communicate with each other silently and then whisper messages that wait to be captured or let pass through space and time.
The dust settles on each of us, from its fragments the art of the children of this mystical and at times insidious land is born.
In the Pisapia and Mattioli Palaces the dust emerges among the works whose traces are a key that invites the discovery of the voices and visions born from the Mediterranean dust".
