The Church of the Santissimo Rosario (Most Holy Rosary) is located in Via del Convento, close to the municipal seat of Taurasi.
Built in 1582, it is also known by the townspeople as the “Convent”. Restored and embellished, notably after the earthquakes of 1796 and 1980, the Church of the Santissimo Rosario has a gabled façade with an eye-catching stone portal.
Inside, the Church has a single nave with a series of Renaissance elements (pillars) and other Baroque decorations (paintings of angels, saints and popes). There are also no fewer than six paintings, mostly dating from the 18th century, positioned above the same number of marble altars along the walls.
Like the Collegiate Church of San Marciano Vescovo, the Church of the Santissimo Rosario is a religious landmark for the community of Taurasi and adds to the artistic legacy of the town centre.
