The Arco della Terra or Porta della Terra, has a particular artistic, architectural and environmental value, being the only entrance gate to the town of Sant'Andrea di Conza, still existing, built between the 16th and 17th centuries. Centuries in which there was the greatest growth and characterization of the different building types that determined the significant urban layout of the town.
Even today, all the streets that lead from the Arco della Terra to the Episcopal complex have retained the structure of that period, giving rise to a harmonious pile of low houses, alleys and stairways, all enriched with architectural and decorative elements in local stone (Breccia Irpinia, Favaccio, Favaccina).
Of particular interest are the stone balconies and the various portals that flank the "street".
A few steps from the Gate you can admire a stone drinking trough, "la pila", built in 1833 and the not very large Piazza Umberto I occupied by an elegant fountain made entirely of stone dominated by the coat of arms of Sant'Andrea.
