The Settembre Eclanese (Eclanese September) is a review of traditional events that takes place in Mirabella Eclano, on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.
For a month or so, from the end of August to the last ten days of September, the town of Irpinia gets ready to host a series of religious, musical and entertainment events. The programme for the last edition of the Settembre Eclanese, held in 2019, concluded with celebrations in honour of Saint Pio, accompanied by spectacular fireworks and a musical concert by the Irpinian group "I Lumanera".
The Settembre Eclanese programme also includes the Tirata del Carro (Dragging of the Cart), one of the most famous events in Irpinia, an integral part of the wider and more varied tradition of straw carts and lilies.
Each year, the Settembre Eclanese festival is renewed with the addition of new events and the participation of many businesses and associations that contribute to enriching its cultural and traditional aspects.
