The Via Ferratas and the Climbing routes of Volturara Irpina are hiking routes developed by the local authority, mountain guides and geologists from Campania Mountain Guides and STAGE Srl.
The three routes, opened in 2019, are classified “blue”, “red” and “black”. They stretch over the western side of Mount Costa, just a stone’s throw from the centre of the town, and are interconnected. The routes vary in difficulty level. In general, all three are of average gradient, but there are some more technical and challenging parts on the steeper sections.
The Via Ferratas and the Climbing route are a unique experience, reserved only for expert hikers or beginners accompanied by guides.
