The ruins of the Feudal Castle of Serino are situated at the summit of a green hill between the villages of Canale and Toppola.
The hill fort is thought to date from 839 AD, and took on its current configuration in 1159. Now in ruins due to adverse weather and neglect, only a few remains can still be seen today. Access to the site is through two arched doors that once led to the main entrance. Once through the last door, visitors can still admire the Church dedicated to Our Lady of the Graces, the private chapel with bell tower, and the drinking trough.
The ruins of Serino Castle welcome the visitor to a location, which has a historic feel and a mood enhanced by the ancient linden tree at the front, just one of the many natural features that surround this site.
