Castelfranci Wine Festival is an annual event in Castelfranci dedicated in particular to Aglianico, but also to other typical Irpinian wines.
The wine-growing tradition, which involves many farmers and entire local families, is narrated in the entire transformation process, which starts with the vine and ends with a final product, the pride of the Castelfranci hills. Grape harvest time, for example, is experienced with joy by the many children who take part in crushing the grapes, just as in the past.
The event is an important opportunity to promote the different wines (Aglianico, Coda di Volpe, Greco, Fiano and Trebbiano), with culinary tastings, proposals and pairings organised by expert sommeliers. The focus is on the local players, namely the producers and wineries, who tell their story through their labels, enhancing the territory in an integrated way.
The Castelfranci Wine Festival is also a feast in its own right, with a programme of musical performances and entertainment of various kinds, craft stands and food stands offering typical dishes.
The two-day feast and cultural event, which takes place in the breathtaking scenery of the hills of the middle Calore Valley, thus involves the entire local community but also attracts visitors eager to discover a land with a thousand-year-old tradition.
