The Rupe di Cairano (Cairano Cliff) is located on the tuff peak of the town, which can be reached by climbing up the stone streets of the historic centre.
An impressive place in terms of landscape, situated at a height of about 803 metres above sea level, the Cairano Cliff offers a spectacular view over a valley surrounded by mountains and interrupted, occasionally, by the presence of a few villages in Upper Irpinia such as Andretta, Conza della Campania and Sant'Andrea di Conza. Lake Conza, at the centre of the panorama, is the jewel in the crown of this wonderful naturalistic setting.
Three wind organs have recently been installed on the Cairano Cliff, each consisting of groups of reeds made of zinc and titanium alloy, placed on three reinforced concrete bases, set up to capture air currents and transform them into sound. It is a unique work of art, created to provide visitors with a gentle background sound during their walks, meditation and contemplation.
Many travellers come to the Cairano Cliff every year, driven by their curiosity to experience authentic sensations or to dedicate moments to themselves in a place that seems almost suspended in time and space.
